Shock and awe
Oh my gosh, I hadn’t really done anything with my blog after I got back to America. Then one of my friends said she was having troubles loading it and I come back and see all these comments, wowie! I can’t believe people googled me, haha. Anyway, I read all of the comments and I hope people are still checking back and see this. First of all this is for anyone interested in going to Japan, a week, a semester, a year, anything. The program that set me up is JustGO! Their website is justgoglobal.com and they work with kids all over the US, not just Colorado. Actually I went over to Japan with a guy from Cali. I totally recommend you check out their site. Go to the students section and fill out the form at the bottom to request more info. There are other programs that some of you mentioned that I actually applied for but JustGO! helped the most with making the payment for the trip less alarming and a lot less stressful. For the people who asked, I don’t think you need a specific level of Japanese speaking skills to go. I went with pretty much with the skills of a Japanese kindergartener, I was really good at saying ‘hello‘... The more you learn in the States the better though and you’ll be amazed how much you know when you come back. So! Thanks everyone for reading my blog (was it inspirational?? jk) and all of the comments, hope to be reading your Tales of a Gaijin someday!! Oh, for you curious people out there, here's a picture of my first meal in America!! Fancy huh?! I thought so too.

It sounds like you had fun. Glad to hear that it was so fun. I hope to go there one day and maybe buy a house there.
I'm commenting again. Wow, what a great home-coming meal. O_O;
Glad you had fun in Japan. I hope you get to stay in contact with your friends.
I am wanting to go to Japan, so I'm looking over JustGo's site..I hope they accept homeschoolers ^^;
Yeah I saw you on Nick News also! I was curious to know how they got to interview you?
I hope you had a fun time!
I saw you on Linda Ellerbee. I loved hearing about your story! :-)
Thank's for posting which program/site you traveled with! ^_^' Yeah, prices are a big concern for me so I'll be glad for any funding/discounts I can get my hands on! O_o Now I just have to deal with a phone consultation... (doesn't like talking on the phone with strangers..)
Sorry, I have another question. (Hope you don't mind! ^_^') How did you learn Japanese prior to leaving. Teacher? Class? Self-taught? Is there a specific program that taught you?
Thanks again!
Hey. I only recently came upon your BLOG for japan after I saw you on nickelodean. It was total random chance, too, since I saw it when my friend's little brother was watching it.
It was really interesting! I hope to talk to you a bit, if it's possible. My e-mail is

I saw you on Nick News too!!! And I was jealous that you got to go to japan. And at the same time I was so happy for you. I'm trying to go to Japan. And it's weird the school that you were going to I visited their website and was reding the stuff and I was thinking how I wanted to go to that school and then I saw this thing writen there and it was by you. I thought it was weird and then I saw you on Nick News and I was thinking is that the same girl. And I thought "naaaa" couldn't be but it is. Teehee. Have a superspectacular day!! ^_^
Hey!
I saw you on Nick News w/Linda Ellerbee. OMG I bet you had so much fun...you DID get the chocolate milk right? Up until I saw you, I thought Japan was all "Pagota tops" and, y'know, Japanese traditional.
You've shown me otherwise. You must have missed your "real" famly alot.
Cool, dude. Cool.

Just like werent u thinking, I saw you on nick news with Linda Ellerbee. I once visited Japan for two weeks (my father was in the navy) and I just couldn't get enough. Anime and j-pop were what interested me in Japan too. However, ever since I went there, I've been fascinated with every aspect of the culture. I eat with chopsticks, drink TONS of tea, take my shoes off in the house, and answer the phone, "moshi, moshi!" *don't know if I spelled it right!* ^_^ Have you been to the public baths? I felt so weird being there, but they're so relaxing. I just read mangas as I waited. If I could choose anywhere to go, I would want to go back to Japan...hands down. I have a myspace, check it out! http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=15317511 (yeah, I know it's long!) Anyways, it was cool seeing you on TV and I'm SOOO jealous! Sayonara!

I saw you Nick News this morning! IT was cool and I was thinking that it must have been extremely difficult to adapt. I'm a regular Cardcaptor Sakura watcher and I was amazed when on Nick News they showed that you really do have three pairs of shoes to wear at school, and you really do have to say "It's time to eat" when you're going to eat. But tell me, were there any romantic interests back there? And if there were, were you able to communicate with them alright? I enjoyed reading your blog and I hope that you can answer me, if you do, my email is yesinasa666@yahoo.com or you can go to my blog yesinasa.blogspot.com. Thanks for your time! Good luck!
hey!
i saw you on nick news too. =]
that's cool, japan? i used to live there! i wish i could go back. =]
but have fun!
Hello, I also am one of the people who saw you on Nick News. My sister told me about the program because oddly enough, it aired a couple of weeks before I was to leave for Japan. I'm currently in Seto (outside Nagoya) attending Nagoya Gakuin University for a semester.
Your blog and the Nick News thing was helpful in preparing me for my trip here. Although everybody they interviewed was in Tokyo and I'm...not there (well, I may be come Golden Week).
Anyway, welcome back to the States!
n_n Lol. I googled you after I saw you on nick news. =) You're so lucky you went to Japan! >w< You played kingdom hearts 2 before us, probably watched cool anime stuff, and had tons of manga you could read. XD I'm sure living in Japan must've been really fun to you. ^_^
P.S. Cool blog! =D
Hey! I googled you after I saw you on Nick News and was so jealous you got to go to Japan!^^ I hope to go there one day.
This is the same Tucker from the other two comments before.
I'm going to Japan in 07 for a semester. If I like it I'll be going for a year or more in college.
I'd like to know if you know if there is any way of obtaining the Nick News episode that had you in it? I'd really like to watch it again, but I have no idea how... It'd help me out with learning more about Japan. ANY help is appreciated.. my email is Quily2002@aol.com, though if you prefer, you can just comment here your reply. Thanks!
thats funny that you were so shocked, you were on tv rember, youll be googled for the rest of your life.
Hey, I'm commenting again too, haha! I have a new email though, so you probably dont remember me from the last time I commented. I still wanna be your friend though, Lol. I'm going to go to JustGO's site, and check it out. Email me if you want, kay? <3
